IRS figures show that Collier County continues to be a magnet for affluent residents from Illinois, Connecticut and New York who are flocking to the area and bringing with them a staggering amount of wealth and disposable income. Florida is an attractive destination for people with means and Collier County leads the nation with attracting new taxpayers.
